Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blusher

Physicians Formula Happy Booster: Glow & Mood Boosting Blush
I tink I got this in the warm shade...
$11.95

Physicians Formula was one of the brands I most intrigued by in the states
Having only picked up this blusher I'm a bit annoyed at myself for not getting more bits considering you can't get the range in the UK
The Happy Booster blusher is such a nice little product I wish I'd explored a little more

The packaging is so cute, sickly sweet and pink
I like the fact the lid is clear so you can easily see what product it is you're picking up but then there is also a concealed section with a mirror and little pink brush
The little imprinted hearts add an even cuter little touch

According to Physicians Formula the blusher is infused with their Happy Boost Blend, featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress. In all honesty I haven't exactly noticed any boost to my happiness from a make up product!
They also say that the Ultra-soft and blendable blushing powder features a fresh and vibrant mix of blushing tones infused with a pop of color to create a healthy glow. This I do agree with, it definitely gives you a glow to the cheeks and makes you seem more awake and 'with it'.
Even more sickly sweetness from the company 'the scent of violet provides a sense of joy each time you apply...' oh dear...whilst I agree it does smell nice I wouldn't say I feel joyful applying it...9 times out of 10 I'm a zombie in the morning trying to resemble some form of human with makeup so no joy is involved!

All that aside it is a lovely product with a gorgeous colour and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase more from Physicians Formula in the future
I just don't believe the bullshit about happiness boosting...cynical I know

Sleek Blush by 3 'Sweet Cheeks'

Sleek Blush by 3
Blusher Palette
Sweet Cheeks
£10.00

I'm not 100% sure if this is limited edition or now a permanent fixture to the Sleek line up but I do know I like it...
The Sleek blusher palettes are perfect if you're looking to add some new blusher shades to your collection but don't want to shell out too much hard earned cash
£10 for three full sized blusher pans is bloody good value, coming in it at £3.33 a blusher
They are extremely good quality for the price point and I highly recommend giving them a go
In this palette you get a cream blusher in Cupcake, a matte blush in Dollymix and a shimmer finish blusher in Candyfloss
This is the first time I've ever tried a Sleek cream blusher and have to say I'm very much impressed, extremely pigmented, easy to blend, lasts well on the skin
everything you would want from a cream blusher in my eyes
The other two blushers are both powder, one a matte finish and one a shimmer
The shimmer shade, Candyfloss, is a bright pink leaning to more coral tones
As these are so pigmented a light hand is definitely needed when applying these blushers so as not to look like a clown! But that does also mean the product will last forever
The matte shade, Dollymix, is much more lilac and something I've never tried
This translates quite subtley to the skin, being matte it doesn't highlight any large pores unlike shimmer shades and is therefore very flattering on
I would imagine this palette would be good for all skin tones as the colours would look amazing on both fair and dark colourings

Have you tried any of the Sleek blusher offerings before?

Fashionista Custom Blusher Palette

fashionista_blusher

fashionista_swatches

Custom Blusher Palette
£5.00 for Palette
£4.00 (or 4 for £10.00) for blusher pans
Fashionista at Superdrug
Colours in palette: (clockwise from top left) Amber Glow, Milan, New York, London

I'd been contemplating getting a Fashionista blusher palette for a while now but for some reason never got round to it...but I bit the bullet and am so glad I did!
Such a bargain for £15.00 you get a compact palette and four different blushers of your choice.
What I love the most about this idea is you can take something only marginally larger than a bulky blusher with you on holiday and you've got four completely different blushers with you to enable you to achieve any look you fancy..brilliant!
It's the same idea as the MAC blusher palettes but immensely cheaper.
The choice of blushers for the palette is fairly extensive with thirteen different colours to choose from with a variety of finishes and also bronzers
I chose three of the merged, baked blushers in Milan, New York and Milan
And also a mono blusher (which I assume just means a normal blusher) in Amber Glow
All the colours are really pigmented as you can see in the swatches
Out of the four colours I chose I don't think there are any duds, which is pretty good going considering I ordered them blind online!
My favourite has to be Milan, the only non coral toned blusher out of the bunch
It's a gorgeous, warm pink with shimmer running through it
The shimmer doesn't translate too obviously to the cheek which is fab as too much can look like a glitter overload which isn't good when your 22 and work in an office, not 7 at a school disco
The other three colours are all stunning as well and are all different, even if they are all from the same coral coloured family
I will definitely get so much use from this little palette
it's so easy to just have everything in one place

Very tempting to get another and fill it with another four beauties

Dainty Doll Fragrance Direct Haul

Dainty Doll Haul

I'm guessing that Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts make up brand has gone into liquidation (or whatever the term is..) as the whole range has been popping up on various discount sites and in the clearance section on ASOS.
The range was created with those of fair skin in mind, so perfect for me and my ghostliness.
As you've probably guessed from my previous posts I am a sucker for cheek products, in specific blushers.
Both the cream blushers and powder blushers were reduced to £1.99 from £13.50 so it would have been rude not to purchase at such a bargain!
Just checking Fragrance Direct and the majority of the products are still in stock.
I think working it out I spent just £20 (inc. P&P) on over £100 worth of make up!

Dainty Doll Blushers

dainty doll close up

Being the packaging fiend that I am I really like the sleekness of the Dainty Doll products
The simple black and gold compacts appeal to my needs
They are also really sturdy and fasten securely so would be no problem chucked into a make up bag on the go

dainty doll products

dainty doll swatches

Top row are the cream blushers and the bottom row are powder
One thing I will say is that the swatches on the website are shocking as always with Fragrance Direct
I never go by what the colours show they are in the majority completely wrong
When I received my parcel I don't think there were any colours I was disappointed with
The cream blushers are a gorgeous consistency and blend into the skin effortlessly
Million  Dollar Babes looks to be the perfect pale girls contouring shade, but I haven't mastered contouring yet this could be the product that helps me.
All the blushers are really well pigmented, even the palest Hippy Shake which would probably be more of a matte highlight shade as it is so pale
You are my Sunshine is a gorgeous coral colour, a dupe for Sleek's Rose Gold and Nars Orgasm blushers
The name and colour of this blusher are most definitely my favourites out of the bunch
My Nanny used to sing 'You are my Sunshin' to me every night when I was with her so naturally I'm drawn to it..

concealer

concealer swatch

I also picked up two of the concealer pens again reduced down to £1.99
The green coloured is meant to counteract redness and as I have very blotchy and red skin I thought this could work and so far I've seen quite a difference in the tone of my skin when used under foundation
The formulation is very creamy and blendable, it sinks into the skin well and brightens the skin

I would definitely recommend picking up some Dainty Doll products whilst they are still around, especially at the reduced prices

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Stereo Rose

Mineralize Skin Finish
Stereo Rose
£21.50
MAC

I remember when I first started reading beauty blogs a few years ago Stereo Rose popped up numerous times and I loved the look of it
Aesthetically it was gorgeous, the gold veining in the actual powder was gorgeous but it also swatched stunningly
I tried searching for it online via ebay and all sorts but it was either fake or ridiculously over priced, I resigned myself to never owning the little pretty
And then I heard that MAC were re-releasing it, I knew I wasn't going to miss out again and ordered straight away
I haven't found myself drawn to MAC's collections in a long time, not since Wonderwoman I think, but this purchase has definitely reignited my love for MAC and I have a wish list as long as my arm once again
I'm saving the money though for when in the states and it's a little cheaper!
As you can see from the swatch it's a gorgeous, warm, coral colour and a shade that would be universally flattering
Quite possibly why it is so hyped in the beauty world
The shimmer in it does make it a great highlighter too
I know some people would be turned off by the shimmer but I love the glowy look it gives my cheeks
As Stereo Rose is so covetable there are numerous dupes about but I'm over the moon to finally have this in my collection and have been wearing it everyday since I got it

The other Limited Edition MAC product I've been wanting for years, I think it stemmed from the same blog post as my lust for Stereo Rose, is the duo blusher Ripe Peach
I wonder if that's due a re-release

Stila Convertible Colour in 'Gladiola'

stila

stilablusher

stilaswatch

Convertible Colour
Lip and Cheek Colour
Gladiola
£16.00
Stila

When I ordered this from Boots I meant to get the Gerbera shade but somehow got confused and purchased Gladiola quite a different colour
Once I received it I have to be honest I was pretty gutted
It's pretty much a bright orange
Something I never thought I'd try really
But for £16.00 I figured I'd give it a go
The idea of the convertible colour product is that it's a cream based formula which can be used to add colour to both the cheeks and the lips
Whilst it looks scary in the pan it's translucently sheer in texture so it's not too easy to go heavy with the colour
This you can see in my swatch
It has a glossy finish which settles into the skin really nicely
I've been applying this with my Real Techniques Stippling brush (perfect for cream blushers) and have been liking the warm glow it gives me
Very natural on the skin and definitely fast becoming one of my favourite cheek products
I love it so much I'm now eying up multiple other shades...someone needs to take my debit cards away!

Have you tried any of the Stila Convertible Colours?

Too Faced Complexion Perfection Kit

Too Faced Leopard Love
Complexion Perfection Kit
£12.50
Boots

I remember seeing this around before but never purchased as I don't really like buying make up online without having a play to see the quality of the brand
Too Faced has only just come into my local Boots, al though I think it was only for Christmas, and I got to have a closer look at their products and the quality of them
I saw this on the Boots website in the online offers section and it was only £12.50 (I think, it's not on there anymore) and I had to snap it up!
That only works our to around £4 for each product, pretty good for Too Faced really.
I love anything cute, pretty and girly and the packaging of this is just that.
All pastel colours and girly touches
I was also drawn in by the fact that each product was a mixture of a few colours in a leopard print pattern
In the kit you get a bronzer, blusher and a highlight, so everything you need for a glowing look in one place
Perfect for travelling with
The swatches show that the colours are gorgeous
The bronzer is the only product not to have a huge amount of shimmer running through it which is ideal as you don't want to be spreading glitter all round your face...not a good look
I have to say though I'd say to use the bronzer with a light hand as it's easy to over do and look a bit on the orange side.
The blusher is a lovely, subtle pink colour which isn't too frosty and baby pink but is different from my usual coral colour
I like how the highlighter isn't your usual icy champagne kind of colour
It's more warm and could even be used as a shimmery bronzer if you so desire, I think it would make a lovely eyeshadow colour
I'd definitely recommend picking this up if you can find it at half price

Look Make Me Blush in 'Flirt'

looks blusher pan

Look Blusher
Flirt
£8.00

I've wanted to pick up a product from the Look make up range for a while now after seeing it popping up on a few beauty blogs
My local Superdrug has recently had a makeover and now stocks the range, whoop
I behaved myself and only bought the one blusher but was eying up a few lipsticks
The whole range wasn't out yet though so I couldn't have a proper swatching session
I chose the colour Flirt which is a stunning corally pink
It looks quite bright and intimidating in the pan but is gorgeous on
The shade is buildable so your able to sheer it out for a more subtle wash of colour or layer it up for a punch of coral

look blusher swatch

As you can see in the swatch above there is a slight shimmer/glitter in this shade
It's a shimmer finish rather than matte
The glitter does translate onto the skin but it isn't in your face
Just a subtle shimmer
Over the course of the day this glitter disappears but the colour stays strong

Have you tried anything from the Look range?

Sleek Blush by 3 in 'Pumpkin'

blush by three

Blush by 3 Blusher Palette
in 'Pumpkin'
Sleek ~ £10.00

(L-R) P Pie, Squash, Lantern
The colours and names of the three blushers seem so apt for this time of year
I love autumn and all the colours and textures associated with it
In all honesty I meant to pick up the 'Lace' version of this compact and may have to return and purchase it
Three blushers for £10.00 is a bargain in my eyes, around £3.33 for each shade and they are all full sized

blush by 3 swatches

Same order as in pan
As with all Sleek products all three blushers are highly pigmented and you don't need much to achieve a good colour
I'm very heavy handed when it comes to applying blusher so use a very very light hand when applying these
I've never used an orange blusher and have to say find it quite intimidating in the pan
'P Pie' is my favourite of the three colours, it's coral in tone and I love corals
My blusher collection is brimming with corals but I stand by the fact they are all slightly different :P

Benefit blusher Hervana

DSC_9195
Hervana Blusher ~ Benefit £23.50

On one of my many perusals of the Benefit counter in my local boots this little pretty caught my eye.
I have a bit of a penchant for Benefit box blushers and am starting to accumulate quite the collection. Coralista still being my favourite closely followed by sugar bomb. Contemplating buying hoola if anyone has tried it yet?
Anyway back to Hervana, it's one of Benefits newest launched blushers and looks so pretty in the pan, gorgeous and subtle colours in a swirly pattern.

DSC_9196

Described by Benefit as a 'good karma Face powder' not too sure how that applies but it's still very pretty.
The four colours are called; Lucky shell, Devine peach, Heavenly rose and Berry delight.
Even the names sound gorgeous.
Swirled together the colours combine to a muted coral toned rose on the cheeks, it's hard to describe but is very nice indeed. As the separate colours are quite small it would be difficult to apply each colour separately so a swirl of the four is the only way ;)
Benefit describe the colour as orchid blossom, again a lovely name. I would agree its different to any colour I already own.

Have any of you tried this blusher?

Stila ~ Love at First Blush

IMG_2004

Stila Blusher ~ Love at First Blush

Having never tried a Stila product before when I saw this little pretty on Sailor Jennie's blog sale I snapped it up.
I fell for the cuteness of the heart motifs and the gorgeous pink colour.
As you have probably seen I have a bit of a thing for coral toned blushers and seem t0 keep purchasing more and more of the same colour family.
This blusher however is more of cooler toned pink and something a little different.
The middle colour looked a bit like MAC's Well Dressed blusher to me which I own but find quite hard to get colour pay off on my fair skin.
The two colours either side of this matte shade are both glitter packed. I personally am a huge fan of glitter, my pores don't seem to be highlighted by the glitter in Nars Orgasm as I've seen mentioned before.
It's a lovely natural looking pink blusher which gives me the perfect amount of colour for day to day wear. I don't wear this for work as the glitter may be a little much for a tile shop so save it for my days off.

Any other Stila products I should give a go?

Topshop 'Flush' Blusher

IMG_2001

Topshop Cream Blush in 'Flush'

I've seen plenty about the Topshop make up range around the blogosphere but hadn't dabbled myself until recently. I took the plunge on a trip to Brighton and picked up this cream blusher, the lipstick in Brighton Rock (felt it was fitting) and a nail varnish in Moonshine.
I'd never used a cream blusher before but having heard such good things about Topshops attempt I thought I'd give it a go and at only £6 I figured I had nothing to lose.
The colour I chose was Flush, I was debating between this and Neon Rose which may well be my next purchase now...
The consistency is almost like a thick paste to me which dries to a powder consistency, I use my fingers to apply to the apples of my cheeks and blend with my Crown duo fibre blusher brush. I do find it quite easy to over do this blusher though, probably doesn't help how poor the lighting is where I put my make up on leading to put on more than I need. Luckily it is easily blended out to an appropriate tone.
Topshop describe this colour as a Rose colour, I'd agree to an extent.
It has a corally undertone which first attracted me but there is a deeper, almost mature, overall colour which is where I see the rose colour.
Neon Rose is now firmly on my wish list as are a few other Topshop products.
I personally quite like the packaging, it's cute and different to anything else in my collection. I know a lot of people don't like the packaging and gripe at how dirty it gets, mine hasn't actually gotten that dirty in the time it's been bashed about in my make up bag.

Any other cream blusher recommendations?

Benefit SugarBomb blusher

IMG_1773

The Benefit Sweet 'n' Wow Kit

On a recent jaunt into my local shopping centre I took a detour over to the Benefit counter in Boots, as seems to be the norm for myself these days.
I initially wanted to check out the new lipglosses which match the blusher boxes but not being much of a lipgloss wearer I figured I wouldn't get much wear out of them.
So I had a little swatch of the SugarBomb blusher, which the make up artist has often used on me, I love the coral colour and knew it had to be mine. Having had it used on me before I knew it suited my complexion so had no hesitation in parting with my hard earned cash...
Just before I went to purchase I saw out the corner of my eye this little set. For the same price as the blusher alone you get a full sized SugarBomb blusher (12g) and a trial size Posie Tint (4ml) another product I've been interested in trying out. Of course I swapped for this little set...and may have also picked up the new Sun Beam to give a try...I just couldn't help myself!
Since I bought this blusher I have been using it every day, it's the perfect shade of coral for my skin tone and works so well as an everyday blusher, not overly shimmery and not too in your face a colour..perfect.

Any one else tried this gorgeous blusher?
