Stila Lip Glaze Collection

stila_lip_glaze

stila_lip_glaze_swatch

All is Bright Lip Glaze Set
Stila
£18.50 down to £12.95

At Christmas (I know crazy to still be talking about it in February but I've got lots of beauty bits to be getting through) Stila had a few different gift sets and a lip glaze set was one of them
They're still available on the Stila website at the discounted rate, such a good bargain considering each full size glaze alone is around £16!
Out of the eight colours above only two are permanent al though I can only see Black Cherry on the website at the moment.
From what I can gather from other online swatches the lip glazes are consistently well pigmented and glossy
I like how in the gift set there was a good range of different colours included ranging from subtle, sheer pinks right up to deep berry.
The darker colours look gorgeous on the lips
I personally can't really pull off a matte, dark, vampy lip but the glossy finish makes it so much more wearable
They do slightly stain the lips once the gloss has worn off but in a flattering way
Plus the gloss lasts really well, which to me is quite surprising as I tend to find it disappears off my lips within half an hour
I still felt  the gloss at least 2 hours after application
I would definitely recommend looking into these, especially the gift sets they do as they're such good value!

Stila Convertible Colour in 'Gladiola'

Convertible Colour
Lip and Cheek Colour
Gladiola
£16.00
Stila

When I ordered this from Boots I meant to get the Gerbera shade but somehow got confused and purchased Gladiola quite a different colour
Once I received it I have to be honest I was pretty gutted
It's pretty much a bright orange
Something I never thought I'd try really
But for £16.00 I figured I'd give it a go
The idea of the convertible colour product is that it's a cream based formula which can be used to add colour to both the cheeks and the lips
Whilst it looks scary in the pan it's translucently sheer in texture so it's not too easy to go heavy with the colour
This you can see in my swatch
It has a glossy finish which settles into the skin really nicely
I've been applying this with my Real Techniques Stippling brush (perfect for cream blushers) and have been liking the warm glow it gives me
Very natural on the skin and definitely fast becoming one of my favourite cheek products
I love it so much I'm now eying up multiple other shades...someone needs to take my debit cards away!

Have you tried any of the Stila Convertible Colours?

Stila Seeing Stars Smudge Stick Set

stilasmudgestick

Stila Smudge Stick Set
£16.66 Boots

Such a bargain! I love Boots for the Christmas sales as all of the make up gift sets from Christmas come down in price
This year my local store actually stocked some Stila, Too Faced and Philosophy products. Normally their pretty poor on the premium make up front.
I'm now regretting not picking up some more Philosophy beauty bargains but in all honesty I have enough shower gel to last me through the year and some.
Considering one of the Stila Smudge sticks alone are £13 paying £16.66 for five full sized is brilliant.
I would most definitely pick up a set of these beauties if your local Boots still has stock available, I know their out of stock online but it's worth a try.

The 'sticks' are like a wind up eyeliner in design, in all honesty I was expecting a thicker nib so as to use it like an eyeshadow but the thin nib allows the product to be used as both an eyeliner and an eyeshadow so it's versatile.
I like how each different smudge stick's casing is the colour of the product it houses.
I get so frustrated when I'm looking for something amongst many other bits and bobs and can't easily distinguish what each thing is.
The glitter in the packaging makes it pretty as well which is a bonus if you display your make up at all.

Moray~Golden Olive Shimmer
Stargazer~Black with Gold and Silver Pearl
Angelfish~Metallic Pewter
Tetra~ Deep Shimmery Purple
Oscarfish~Warm Brown with Gold Pearl (Limited Edition)

In my opinion there aren't any dud colours in this set.
My two favourites are Angelfish and Tetra.
The darker colours can be used to create a smouldering smokey eye and Angelfish can be used to highlight on the lid and brighten used in the waterline.
The formula is quite soft and blendable, they are long lasting and waterproof too so should last all day, or night.

Christmas List

Christmas is my favourite time of year
I'm just like my Mum, we are the most festive people in our family
Last year we didn't celebrate as usual because my Grandad was in hospital
This year we're going to do him proud and have a great Christmas for him
I love spending time with my family and the festive period is all about family for us
Every weekend is full of various get togethers
I like to plan Christmas shopping very early and most people just laughed in my face when I asked what they wanted, back in September.
But now I have a super organised list for everyone and am about 80% done
I can't wait to sit down with a cheesy Christmas film, candles lit and a glass of wine to wrap them all up
As a lover of lists I've made a 'visual guide' as my boyfriend always says he won't buy me anything off of a list...

1. Philosophy Sugar Plum Fairy Gift Set ~ Boots
I actually bought this for a friend for Christmas and have fallen for the cute little set myself. The smell of the shower gel is amazing and it comes with a lovely little lipgloss, both a stunning deep purple colour. When I go to NYC I want to purchase a few Philosophy bits so I see this as a sampler to the goods ;)

2. Converse Sequin Trainers ~ Schuh
I saw these in a magazine a little while ago and thought they were gorgeous!
I've always been a converse girl at heart, at one point I had around 8 pairs...back in my emo/skater days...
I really like how these have a bit of glam factor about them
On the site I even read a review of a bride planning to wear these laced with ribbon on her wedding day...such a cute idea for a heel-phobe (I'm not phobic of course just can't walk in them to save my life!)

3. Stila Into The Light Eyeshadow Palette ~ Boots
This has appeared on countless blogs recently
Of course I've been lemming it, a neutral eyeshadow palette, it has my name all over it
Considering it's had such great reviews I'd love to add it to my little collection
It seems a bit smaller than the Urban Decay palette but mainly in length so it should fit in my smaller make up bag for on the go/travelling, perfect

4. Ted Baker Twinkee Glitter Bow Large Washbag ~ Ted Baker
Girly. Nude. Sparkly. Bow
Every girl needs a pretty washbag, self explanatory

5. Marc by Marc Jacobs Amy Gold Watch ~ Goldsmiths Jewellers
I've been drooling over gold, chunky watches for a while now but haven't quite found the one. It was close between this one and a Michael Kors watch, seeing as I got one for my 21st I figured I'd branch out into a different brand.
I kind of know for a fact that I won't be getting this simply because we aren't doing big presents this year but a girl can dream.

6. Too Faced Sweet Indulgence Make Up Set ~ Boots
I've never tried any Too Faced make up before but again seen plenty about it on blogs.
This limited edition kit looks like the perfect introduction to the brand.
A good mixture of eyeshadows, blushers, primer etc.

What's on your Christmas list this year?
Any traditions your family have?

Stila ~ Love at First Blush

IMG_2004

Stila Blusher ~ Love at First Blush

Having never tried a Stila product before when I saw this little pretty on Sailor Jennie's blog sale I snapped it up.
I fell for the cuteness of the heart motifs and the gorgeous pink colour.
As you have probably seen I have a bit of a thing for coral toned blushers and seem t0 keep purchasing more and more of the same colour family.
This blusher however is more of cooler toned pink and something a little different.
The middle colour looked a bit like MAC's Well Dressed blusher to me which I own but find quite hard to get colour pay off on my fair skin.
The two colours either side of this matte shade are both glitter packed. I personally am a huge fan of glitter, my pores don't seem to be highlighted by the glitter in Nars Orgasm as I've seen mentioned before.
It's a lovely natural looking pink blusher which gives me the perfect amount of colour for day to day wear. I don't wear this for work as the glitter may be a little much for a tile shop so save it for my days off.

Any other Stila products I should give a go?

Take Care

Birthday wish list

IMG_1530

My birthday may not be until the beginning of August but today at work was ridiculously slow and boring so I started thinking about what I may like...

Bobbi Brown Make-up Brush Set ~ I need to replace all of my old and crappy make-up brushes, especially now that I'm more into the mantra of a good brush can make all the difference to make-up application

NARS 'Sex Appeal' Blusher ~ I already own both the Orgasm and Deep Throat blushers and love them, there's something about a coral blusher I can't resist. And a coral NARS blusher is even more irresistible. Sex Appeal is a much lighter, more peach toned blusher... I'm torn between this and the glitter ball that is New Order, decisions decisions!

Stila 'Into the night' Eyeshadow Pallet ~ I adore eyeshadow pallets, they just appeal to my magpie senses. I don't own any Stila products and would love to dabble in their line. This looks like the perfect entry with gorgeous colours and a matte brown smudge stick to play with. I dare so it could be love...move over Naked pallet there's a new kid on my block (hopefully)

Next dresses and floral jacket ~ I am lusting after pretty much all of Next's clothes right now. I can often be found wandering around my local store admiring the pretty colours and prints. These three items is me being very very restrained! I'd also love some of their workout clothes but that's too boring for birthday presents no?

Cath Kidston goodies ~ Their website has recently launched the 50% off sale and who doesn't love a bit of Cath Kidston! Everything is just gorgeously girly.

Next tea cup lamp and wide wall organiser ~ My sensible side has reared it's head and I love this wall shelving thingy it would be perfect make up storage, I can see my favourite nail varnishes lined up on the top with some necklaces dangling down the bottom along with some favourite make up items in the drawers...perfection. The tea cup lamp...what can I say it's gorgeous! I must own this! It is however £50 but all that cuteness it has to be worth it...

Ikea Helmer ~ And for the rest of my make up collection these functional, sleek, tidy drawers. Make up storage sorted :)

So a bit of a mixed bag there and I've actually sent this to both my Mum and Dad and the boyfriend...who knows the make up storage of my dreams may be mine...
