Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel

Chanel
Soleil Tan de Chanel
£31

I gave in to the massive hype
And in all honesty I'm not sure
I haven't figured out how to make this work for me
The packaging looks pretty on my dressing table at least
I've wanted to try out the Chanel cream bronzer for so long, when we went on holiday I picked this up in duty free and was so so excited to try it out
It looks quite intimidating in the pot, a fairly orange toned, creamy consistency
Using my fingers I tried to contour on the cheeks, this was my first time contouring so might explain why I couldn't make it work
Maybe I need to persevere a bit more
I've also tried this as a primer/base to give my complexion a bit of a glow
Al though when I do this I don't notice a huge difference and feel it's a waste of such a luxury product
It's quite orangey on the swatches which are pretty true to colour but it blends out nicely

I think I'll definitely keep trying with the contouring technique and if that doesn't work out then it will continue to look lovely on my dressing table

Do you have any high end purchases you kind of regret purchasing?

Look Holiday Glow in Ibiza

ibiza

Holiday Glow Bronzer
£8.00
Look at Superdrug

Since I've been enjoying using my Hoola Bronzer I thought I'd dabble a bit further into the world of tannedness
When Look magazine first released their makeup line I wasn't hugely impressed
It all seemed like everything else on the high street
But recently I've been more attracted to the range, after trying the blusher I thought I'd give their bronzers a go.
And so far I'm impressed

ibiza swatch

It's got more shimmer in than Hoola so if you were to use it as an all over colour you could end up reminiscent of a disco ball but the shimmer is subtle and pretty
It makes a lovely contour shade for my skin tone, not that I'm any good at that!
It's also such a stunning colour you could use it as an eyeshadow
This is great to take on holiday to use for a multi-purpose product

Have you tried anything from Look's makeup range?

Too Faced Leopard Love
Complexion Perfection Kit
£12.50
Boots

I remember seeing this around before but never purchased as I don't really like buying make up online without having a play to see the quality of the brand
Too Faced has only just come into my local Boots, al though I think it was only for Christmas, and I got to have a closer look at their products and the quality of them
I saw this on the Boots website in the online offers section and it was only £12.50 (I think, it's not on there anymore) and I had to snap it up!
That only works our to around £4 for each product, pretty good for Too Faced really.
I love anything cute, pretty and girly and the packaging of this is just that.
All pastel colours and girly touches
I was also drawn in by the fact that each product was a mixture of a few colours in a leopard print pattern
In the kit you get a bronzer, blusher and a highlight, so everything you need for a glowing look in one place
Perfect for travelling with
The swatches show that the colours are gorgeous
The bronzer is the only product not to have a huge amount of shimmer running through it which is ideal as you don't want to be spreading glitter all round your face...not a good look
I have to say though I'd say to use the bronzer with a light hand as it's easy to over do and look a bit on the orange side.
The blusher is a lovely, subtle pink colour which isn't too frosty and baby pink but is different from my usual coral colour
I like how the highlighter isn't your usual icy champagne kind of colour
It's more warm and could even be used as a shimmery bronzer if you so desire, I think it would make a lovely eyeshadow colour
I'd definitely recommend picking this up if you can find it at half price

Benefit 'Hoola' Bronzer

hoola

Hoola Bronzer
Benefit
£23.50

I've been contemplating buying the Benefit Hoola Bronzer for so long. It's perfect for a shimmer free, subtle bronzed look.
But I always seemed to put off purchasing.
I've had Nars Laguna in my collection for a while now but find it makes me look very orange and a bit oompa loompa ish
Maybe I have quite a heavy hand when it comes to application!

hoola close

As usual the Benefit packaging is lovely
Al though the fact it's in a cardboard casing is slightly ngative as this takes a beating in my make up bag and ends up looking tatty very quickly
A fate that most of my Benefit boxes have met.
Hoola is one of benefits top selling products and I cans ee why.
It's a universally flattering shade which works well on almost everyone.
As someone that doesn't tan it gives me just the right amount of colour to look sunkissed but not tangoed.

hoola swatch

As you can see from the above swatch it's pigmented well and has a great colour
also no shimmer which is good if your using it all over as no one wants to look like a disco ball...

I recently heard from my local Benefit MUA that Benefit are releasing cream blushers in the new year...how exciting!

Have you purchased the infamous Hoola?

Merry Christmas!
