Nail Polish Storage

(Sorry about the poor photo quality the lighting's terrible in the flat!)

A little while ago I was moaning to my lovely fiance that I didn't have any storage for my nail polish collection, they were just chucked in a bag which I had to rummage in to find anything I fancied, I couldn't see all my polishes to decide what I wanted to wear and this resulted in always wearing the same polishes and neglecting the rest of my collection.
He took pity on me and built this little shelving unit (I say little it's about a metre sqaure!)
I love it!
I can now see all my bottles of joy lined up in brand order
And I now use all of my neglected polishes on a regular basis too
Unfortunately the way I had them stored before had led to leaks and smashes so a few of my bottles are covered in nail varnish, and it takes forever to get off the bottles
I use the shelves to store my hand and foot creams too...I have quite a few s&g heel genius lined up on the bottom! It always seems to be included in their gift sets and I never get through them...

How do you store your nail polish collection?

Excel Make-up Show

On Sunday I was up at 8am (early for a student on a Sunday!!)
and on my merry way to meet my cousin, auntie and friend for a day full of make-up
We hopped into Fizzy-Boo (my cousin's little fiesta) and pootled off to the Excel make-up show in Greenwich, just opposite the O2
It was so so busy!
All sorts of companies were exhibiting O.P.I, Jessica, Essie, Crown Brushes, Neals Yard Remedies, Minx, and loads more
It was a bustling environment full of beauty therapists....
I have to say it got a bit over whelming at times
I'm slightly claustrophobic so don't really like crowds
Around 3ish we hopped over the Thames to the O2 and indulged in some Nando's goodness
Om nom nom!!
I had a fab day with the girlies and would love to do it again
So onto the goodies!!

 Crown Brush: Large Stippling Brush
£7
 Crown Brush: Slanted Eyeshadow Brush
£4
 Crown Brush: 28 Nude Palette
£26

I missed out on the Naked palette and refuse to pay ebay prices
I am however waiting in vain for it to come back in stock somewhere
I saw this and thought for £26 I couldn't really go too far wrong
There's a good mixture of shimmer and matte shades
The ones I've played with are well pigmented and I really enjoy using them
 Seche Vite Topcoat
£4.50
I've been meaning to get my hands on this for ages
I've used it already and can tell it will be a firm favourite in my manicure routine
 O.P.I Natural Nail Base Coat
£5.70 (all O.P.I polishes were this price)
I thought it was about time I invested in a decent base coat and why not when it was nearly half price!
 Two boxes of pure goodness
Pink before you leap, La paz-itively hot, Pink me I'm good, Lucky lucky lavender, Not so bora-bora-ing pink, Grand canyon sunset
Teenage dream, O.P.I Ink suede, My private jet, Significant other colour, Mod about you, Bright lights big colour

Expect lots of nail swatches soon!!
These two colours are on my nails at the moment
Teenage Dream over Mod about you

Just the right amount of tacky
I quite like pink and sparkly nails, immensely girly
I have been feeling the need to toughen up my outfits to not look like a 5 yr old

Models Own 50% off

When Models ownhad their 50% off sale I snapped up a few polishes as they seem to work well for me, nearly as good as my collection of O.P.I goodies!
I ordered this little lot a week before I went away I managed to get my order through with about an hour of struggling when the site went down, not as bad as everyone else though.
They still hadn't arrived when we left for our holiday so I assumed the back log of orders meant mnie was still waiting. When we got back though they still hadn't arrived but the money had been taken from my account. after emailing them the problem was sorted really quick and they sent me out a replacement order which arrived about 2 days later. I am extremely impressed with this customer service and won't hesitate to order with them again. Thank you models own :)
In the above photo I'm wearing Utopia
It went on really well after 2 coats, it was really streaky on the first coat but most nail polishes are. I struggle with my right hand but it's not too bad this time, the models own varnishes seem to be easier for me to use. I've only had it on one day so far so can't really comment on the chipping yet but so far it's worn well. I get bored easily so will probably change it by Sunday anyway.
You can't really see the names clearly in the picture...something went wrong as usual!
Top row: Champagne, Jade Stone, Peacock Green, Pure Purple
Bottom row: Purple Gray, Nude Beige, Blue Med, Purple Mystique, Pearly Queen, Utopia and Beth's Blue
I did have a bit of a splash out and ordered these 11 varnishes to later go back another 4 and an eye pencil in silver which is lovely to use too. But with a 50% off sale happening it would be ruse not to :P
Now I'm on the look out for some more Nars goodies and might give Illamasqua a whirl too. Any recommendations?
Hoping to do a post on the flat soon considering Gavin did some decorating whilst I was away. I don't want lots of boxes in the photos though hence why I am yet to post about it! I do have an awesome amount of space for my make up bits now which I love. As long as Gavin can't see them he's happy.
