I've been shopping....

clothes haul

I haven't done a 'haul' type post on here for so long!
I've been trying not to buy to many clothes recently as since I've been working in an office environment I've piled on the weight..it sucks!
Al though it's gotten to the point where I don't have a huge amount of clothes to choose from so shopping was inevitable

I'm quite lucky at work as there isn't really a strict dress code I have to adhere too so I can wear what I like within reason. Al though I do like to look a little smarter often choosing a dress and cardigan over jeans and a hoodie but either seem to fit in fine
The two dresses in the photo above are from New Look and are the perfect cut for my figure, elasticaterd under the bust at my slimmest and then hang over my problem area (tum!)
The my little pony t-shirt is the perfect oversized tee for lazy days at home and it's so cute! I used to love the my little pony toys when I was younger
Primark have lots of these £4 tops which are perfect for work tucked into either a maxi skirt or a skater skirt, I love the print of this black one it has almost a stained glass flower print
As it's getting cooler now I picked up some jumpers for the office
The one with lacey shoulders is actually from the maternity section but it was too nice to not buy, who cares if it says maternity on the label anyway!
It's so snuggly and warm, and also a decent length
I have quite a long body so prefer jumpers that are longer, I'm guessing the extra length is to account for bump but it's perfect for my tallness!
The second jumper I picked up from Monki when I went up to London for my birthday
It's just a nice black and white jumper which looks good paired with skinny jeans and little pumps or ankle boots
The white shirt is another maternity purchase!
Again the length is ideal for me, it can be worn with both leggings and jeans being bum covering. There is a bit of ruching at the back which helps to give a bit more shape rather than just a floaty shirt

OOTD

And this is how I wore the little primark top for work recently
I think I need to get some more skirts like this as they really are perfect for work

Victoria's Secret Haul

vs

Victoria's Secret holds a huge place in my heart
Whenever we go to the states I stock up on the stuff
I know the store has come over here now but I'm just not willing to pay the hugely marked up prices
The body mists are my favourite item VS stock and this time round I bought 6...got a bit of a problem I must admit!
I bought some back as presents for friends too, they're just universally liked!
My favourite scent has to be Love Spell, a sweet smell which has peach and cherry blossom in
I bought a bottle of this duty free when I went to Kenya a little while ago and fell in love with the stuff so bought another two bottles when we were in New York
I always get compliments when I wear it
We're planning another trip over to the states in March so will most definitely be stocking up more
Knowing that I can stock up means I won't be so tight on using these goodies
I would definitely recommend the body mists and from what I've tried of the body lotion these are also amazing
Especially when the same scent is used throughout...yum!

Have you got any favourites from the Victoria's Secrets line up?

Michael Kors Spending Spree

mk handbag

mk watch

So I have a new in my life...Mr Michael Kors
All he designs are so classic and timeless, granted there are a few things I'm not sure on but in the majority it's all so nice

When I was in the states I knew I wanted to finally add a Kors to my handbag collection and considering it's so much cheaper over there than here it was the right time
With the purse and the bag together I saved over £100
Originally I was thinking of buying a Mulberry purse in the airport but the £187 put me off, I know it's something that would last me for years but I just couldn't bring myself to spend so much on a purse and figured seeing as I was buying a Michael Kors bag I could have a looksy at their purses too
Then I fell in love the above purse in the gorgeous mandarin shade
Normally I'd go for something more classic but something drew me towards the bright orange colour completely out of my comfort zone
It's perfect and I love it
The Hamilton bag in tan was on my shopping list before I went and I was so glad to find it
The Michael Kors concession stand was ridiculously busy when we were in Macy's
So overwhelming but I stood my ground, there was no way I was leaving without this baby
I think it was the Memorial Day sales that had bought everyone out but as far as I could see there was no reduction on the usual lines only on the clearance stuff
And then on the cruise there was a watch sale...with Michael Kors watches uh oh!
I knew I wanted a gold watch but I also love the tortoiseshell watches too so I ended up choosing one with both incorporated
It's big, gold and in your face
I love it!
I also saved £100 just on the watch to UK prices, so happy

Bath and Bodyworks Haul

babw

hand san

Why don't we have Bath and Bodyworks in the UK?!
This is madness!
I dragged my poor Mum around New York to try and find this store
She was not impressed but once she had a smell of some of the goodies inside she was happy enough
Al though wouldn't let me drag her back there again after I decided I needed more!
I really wanted to pick up some of the infamous candles but knew they would weigh too much in the suitcase, I'm now kicking myself so much as we bought another suitcase and had the room and weight for me to get some..sad times for a candle fiend like me
In the UK I had made myself a little list which only consisted of hand sanitizers and one of each a moisturiser and shower gel and body mist...I got carried away
Everything smells so good and the offers are always amazing!
I think some of the offers I was drawn in by was 6 large products for $30, 3 Minis for $10 and 5 hand gels for $5
I've fallen in love big time for the Cashmere Glow scent and have already asked a friend to pick me some more up when she goes to LA in August (hope she remembers!)
I'm glad my Mum and I are planning to go to Florida late this year/early next year as I definitely want to pick up some candles and the home scents

Have you tried anything from B&BW?
Do you know somewhere to order from for the UK that's not overly priced?

New York Make Up Haul

new york haul

close up haul

close up 2

So just over a month ago I set off to New York with my Mum
It felt like we had been waiting so long for this holiday (well it was just under a year..)
I had a pretty good idea of a few products I wanted to pick up whilst in the states
Mostly stuff we can't get easily in the UK or are a lot cheaper in the US
The above haul is all the makeup goodies picked up, there was also a trip to Bath and Bodyworks (why don't we have that here!!!???) and to the beauty section in Victoria's Secrets.
I've also discovered the perfect skincare routine for my troublesome skin...it may or may not include the addition of a Clarisonic Mia to my arsenal

As you can see from the photos I went a little crazy for nail polishes
The Essies were only $7 and the OPI's were $9 on the cruise so I couldn't resist them
I also finally picked up the feather effect Nails Inc polishes, only $9, and the Illamasqua Speckle polishes which I'd been lusting after for so long
There are a few things missing from the photos as they are already well and truly implemented in my everyday make up bags but I will be reviewing everything I purchased

Hope you're all good :)
Don't forget to follow me via Bloglovin with GFC going down tomorrow

FOTD and an Easter haul

FOTD 2-4-13

products 2-4-13

I've spent the last four days giving my skin a break and going make up free
Whilst indulging in a face mask and sorting out my roots
Today I wanted to make myself feel like a woman again and slapped on a full face
I used my current favourite foundation the Estee Lauder Double Wear, it gives me the perfect amount of coverage especially with my terrible skin at the moment
I also used the Ben Nye Banana Powder for the first time and so far I'm really loving it
Hopefully it stays put all day
My Chanel palette made a reappearance too, something which doesn't happen often enough
I'll definitely be using this a lot more I love it on my eyes, the perfect day time look
As well on my eyes I've been liking using the Rimmel Scandaleyes Nude pencil to open up my eyes a little
And also the new Rimmel Lash Acclerator mascara, I'm road testing this at the moment
Not sure on my thoughts yet, it doesn't seem as amazing as some other high street mascaras out there

Easter Haul

I had a half day last Thursday and I indulged in a bit of retail therapy
There are a few bits missing here but I'm sure they will appear in a post soon enough
The Vans trainers are a neon coral colour and aren't the usual canvas material they're more shiny I guess...well kind of waterproof, it's hard to explain but I love them!
Can't wait to wear them in New York
I bought another pair of coral shoes from Primark which I intend to just wear on the cruise and probably leave on the ship as they were quite cheap a £4
I also indulged in rather a lot of new make up goodies
They will be appearing on the blog soon, I've been loving them so far though
The floral dress is just gorgeous!
I got it for my cousins wedding in August, need to tone up a bit first though
The Hello Kitty slippers haven't left my feet since I bought them
They are super comfy and keep my feet just warm enough

Have you bought any pretty things recently?

Look Makeup 'Haul'

Make Me Blush Blusher in Rosy £8.00
Make Me Blush Blusher in Flush £8.00
Holiday Glow Bronzer in Hollywood £8.00
Cream Blusher in Melon £5.00
Look at Superdrug

On a recent perusal of the Superdrug website I noticed that the majority of the Look make up collection was reduced by up to 50%, seeing that I love both the products I've already tried I took advantage of the offer and got all of the above, plus a mascara and nail polish for a bargain
The offer's still on but I don't think it's 50% any more, still a good discount to be had though
I'm tempted to pick up a few other bits now paydays here!
I like the simple packaging of the larger products but not so much the big text on the front, I like things clean looking and simple
The cream blusher is in quite a cheap plasticy housing but I do like the fact you can see the colour inside
All of the bronzers and blushers in the Look range are in the same packaging so it's hard to tell what your picking up without opening it.
As you can see from the swatches they are all really well pigmented and lovely colours too
Rosy is a subtle pink, something I don't actually have in my collection as it's not coral!
It's a really pretty colour and is perfect for an everyday, rosy cheeked look
Flush is, surprise surprise, a coral..it's similar to the Nars Orgasm in colour but doesn't have the chunky glitter in it which I think is a bonus
Hollywood is a really nice warm bronzer, I prefer warm colours on my skin tone
This requires quite a light hand to avoid looking like mud but I think it would make a stunning eyeshadow colour
I'm really enjoying cream blushers at the moment and Melon is a gorgeous colour, similar to Topshop flush but different enough to not be a dupe
It's a lovely pink colour, again nice and warm and looks great lightly buffed into the cheeks

Very impressed with my little Look haul and I'm now off to eye up some more purchases!

Old Day....

The other day (3rd August) was my 22nd Birthday
Feels like now I have to grow up which is something I'm not 100% comfortable with!
I spent the day with friends and my Mum, shopping and eating perfect combo...
In the evening my boyfriend took me for a meal and some of my family were there as well which was lovely

MAC and Elf 'haulage'

So the student loan cam through the other day and I treated myself
Only a little bit of course :)

Elf:
Eyeshadow Primer, Blusher and Bronzer duo, Single Eyeshadow in Raspberry Truffle, two Mineral Lipsticks in Rosy Tan and Party Pink, Mineral Blusher, Gel Eyeliner, two Nail Polishes in Cranberry and Smokey Brown, Make up mist and set and the Eyeshadow Blending brush
Between £1.50 and £3.50
 Mineral Blush in Rose
Amazing pigmentation, this was just one swipe
I haven't used this properly yet as I've been enjoying my new MAC blush far too much!
I shall make a mental to use it tomorrow :)
 Kate Garey Make-up bag
£14.99
Not sure if you might have noticed but I have a thing for pandas...I love them!
When I saw this I fell in love with it and knew I had to have it
 It's so soft and squidgy
And the interior is a gorgeous floral fabric, nom!
 Back to the make-up...
Elf Mineral lipsticks in Rosy tan (left) and Party Pink (right)
Again really pigmented and both look lovely on lips
I'm slowly building up a decent lipstick collection
Didn't realise how many I had accumalated
 Single Eyeshadow in Raspberry Truffle
I'm trying to get more colour and smokey eyeshadows into my collection
I'm far too much of a neutrals girl
I can't wait to create a smokey eye with this at the weekend!
It's so soft and full of colour
 Blusher and Bronzer duo
This reminded me of some Nars products
I thought for £3.50 who could resist!
The bronzers quite dark for me but with a light hand I could get this to work
Obviously I'll have to wait for the summer though
The blush is lovely too, hopefully I can get out of my Orgasm/Coralista rut

MAC
Blusher in Well Dressed, Studio Sculpt Concealer in NW15, Eyeshadow Refill in Cork, Lipglass in Nymphette and Lipstick in Creme'd Nude
Pretty rubbish swatches there, sorry about that!!

I love Elf for affordable make up binges, as I'm sure we all do. I even managed to convert my bestie, hopefully I can persuade her to let me have a go with her goodies too :)
But I also love MAC for their selection and have a wishlist longer than my arm, in my dreams!!

My new make-up drawers are already close to capacity, might have to have a cull at some point but I love every piece of make up in them.... need more drawers.
