Excel Make-up Show

On Sunday I was up at 8am (early for a student on a Sunday!!)
and on my merry way to meet my cousin, auntie and friend for a day full of make-up
We hopped into Fizzy-Boo (my cousin's little fiesta) and pootled off to the Excel make-up show in Greenwich, just opposite the O2
It was so so busy!
All sorts of companies were exhibiting O.P.I, Jessica, Essie, Crown Brushes, Neals Yard Remedies, Minx, and loads more
It was a bustling environment full of beauty therapists....
I have to say it got a bit over whelming at times
I'm slightly claustrophobic so don't really like crowds
Around 3ish we hopped over the Thames to the O2 and indulged in some Nando's goodness
Om nom nom!!
I had a fab day with the girlies and would love to do it again
So onto the goodies!!

 Crown Brush: Large Stippling Brush
£7
 Crown Brush: Slanted Eyeshadow Brush
£4
 Crown Brush: 28 Nude Palette
£26

I missed out on the Naked palette and refuse to pay ebay prices
I am however waiting in vain for it to come back in stock somewhere
I saw this and thought for £26 I couldn't really go too far wrong
There's a good mixture of shimmer and matte shades
The ones I've played with are well pigmented and I really enjoy using them
 Seche Vite Topcoat
£4.50
I've been meaning to get my hands on this for ages
I've used it already and can tell it will be a firm favourite in my manicure routine
 O.P.I Natural Nail Base Coat
£5.70 (all O.P.I polishes were this price)
I thought it was about time I invested in a decent base coat and why not when it was nearly half price!
 Two boxes of pure goodness
Pink before you leap, La paz-itively hot, Pink me I'm good, Lucky lucky lavender, Not so bora-bora-ing pink, Grand canyon sunset
Teenage dream, O.P.I Ink suede, My private jet, Significant other colour, Mod about you, Bright lights big colour

Expect lots of nail swatches soon!!
These two colours are on my nails at the moment
Teenage Dream over Mod about you

Just the right amount of tacky
I quite like pink and sparkly nails, immensely girly
I have been feeling the need to toughen up my outfits to not look like a 5 yr old

Look of the night and a sneaky little purchase

Another week full of ups and downs
I had a big old cry the other day and got a lot of my system so feel in general 10 times better
I've learnt that my friends are even more indispensable than I originally thought and really appreciate everything they've done for me recently
Been bad with the gym this week, hurt my back on Wednesday and only went back today
Didn't want to do any further damage :)
Only lost 1lb this week but it's better than  nothing and after last weeks big loss I wasn't expecting a miracle
After all that's still half a stone in two weeks
I've got a mini superdrug lots of goodies to post at some point but I'm off to the Excel make-up show tomorrow and will probably have a few more beauty bits to post so I'll just put them all together
Friday night I went out with some friends
It all started ok, ended with some drama
Typical it was a girl who turned up later in the evening who caused said drama and ruined the night, this is why I'm not friends with many girls anymore
Hopefully next time will be better
I did however learn I'm not that bad at pool
Last week they got me bowling, this week pool...what next!?

These little beauties are my new favourite boots
I've been thinking about getting some worker/hobo/whatever boots for a while
But every pair I've tried on make my legs look funnny
I bought a pair which looked alright in the shop and when I wore them out at home felt they looked a bit odd...now I can't take them back though :/
When I popped into Tesco for Despicable Me on Tuesday Mum and I had a wonder around the clothes
I fell in love with another pair of boots but they only had size 5's and weren't getting anymore in as they were old stock, sad times!
I saw these and thought they would look terrible on, cut my legs off in a bad place
But on trying them on I was pleasantly surprised as to how flattering they were
They go with everything, so happy with my little tesco booties
And they only cost (my Mum) £18 :D

This outfit is from Friday night
I felt over-dressed but also felt really good in what I was wearing
And got some compliments, considering I was mainly out with guys I was shocked!
I kept my face quite natural and used Nars Orgasm blush
 I attempted a smokey eye
Using a few shadows from my AIW Urban Decay pallette and two new MUA shadows
Finished off with loreal superline and Dior Black out mascara
Just a slick of coral gloss on my lips as my eyes were quite dramatic
I wore contact lenses as well so my eyes really stood out for a change
 Playsuit: Primark
Blazer: New Look
Black chain bag (Barely seen): Vintage
Tights: Primark
Watch: Fossil
Fang ring: Topshop
Just another photo of my outfit
I wore black heels so my legs looked super long (being 5ft 11 probably helped too!)

Now I guess I should tackle my pile of uni reading
No more lectures now though
Yay!

Looking forward

I always find myself looking at clothes and thinking I can't wear them becuase of my shape
But now I'm looking at fashion differently and looking at trends I want to explore more and push my comfort levels
I tend to stick with dresses and cardigans, I'm sure that won't change a great deal but the shape and style of said items will change.
One of my close friends works in Ted Baker in the airport and has been showing my all sorts of gorgeous dresses
He's taking me down to covent garden nearer graduation to help me choose one
So excited! All the more reason to get down to the size 12
We reckon a size 10 would be good for me but I'm now not too sure
Guess we'll see when I (finally) manage to get there

Just a few bits from Topshop I'm lusting after
I avoid clingy dresses at the moment (obviously) but this cream dress is so nice
And trousers I tend to avoid a lot, I have a couple of pairs of jeans I rely on. I used to have a wardrobe with at least 20 pairs in! I've never had a pair of topshop jeans and it may sound silly but I can't wait to be able to own some
I also love the tailored trousers trend but it tends to emphasise my thighs so these belted 'chinos' will be one of my first skinny purchases (lol!!)
I'm rather excited :D

I adore a lot of stuff on the Ted Baker site
These three dresses are in the shortlist for graduation
I think my uni colours are red, blue and yellow so this red dress or the blak one would probably be best
But the print of the middle dress is stunning, dragonflys....just lovely!
When I'm loaded from a successful in career in the media it may be plausible to obtain all three but not right now...plus they'll have to wait in the queue behind the mulberry bag

Despicable Me came out on DVD yesterday
Since working at the cinema this became one of my firm favourite films
The little yellow minions are amazing I want one so bad!!!
And apparently I share many characteristics with them
If you've seen the film they do pretty much sum me up, except I'm not jaundiced
Off to Tesco when work's over (only another hour and half) to purchase this and some form of fruity treat, surprisingly not missing chocolate!
Excited, but have to wait till after the gym to watch it, hmph

I'm on a self imposed clothes shopping ban, there's no point, so I'm eagerly waiting for the 3rd March for the MAC Wonderwoman collection. I know it's out in Selfridges at the moment but I'm well and truly poor so waiting for the scholarship to come in and save some of it for then. I'm eying up an MSF and possibly a lipglass.... I would love it all but I'm rapidly running out of room in my make up drawers.

Something for the weekend...

Well it's been another busy week
I can't wait for the next few months to be over, especially uni
My heads been all over the place but it's something I won't go into here
After rejoining Weightwatchers I've lost 6 lbs in the first week so I'm pretty happy
Fingers crossed I can keep it up
I've got a few goals in mind with where I want to be weight wise
For a healthy BMI I should be between 10.3 and 12.11
I won't be posting how much I currently way until I shift it
I'm aiming for 11.7 stone, I think this is a good middle ground for me to get to
And i shouldn't look weird that slim
I've always been big, I was a big baby and have never been slim
I always knew I was bigger than the other kids at school but I just accepted it
However I have hated the way I look since I can remember but always got stuck in the cycle of comfort eating to get over it
I'm definitely a comfort eater and whenever something goes wrong (which is a lot) I eat, I wish I was the kind of person who loses their appetite during times like that but I'm just not and I'm used to it
But now I am so determined
I don't want to feel like this anymore
I want to be able to feel good about myself
Which is why I'm doing this for myself now and will succeed
I'll post briefly every now and again about how it's going but won't bore you all too much!
Other than that I've been quite busy with work, uni and friends
We went bowling for a friends birthday and it was so nice to catch up with some of the guys I used to hang around with, being the only girl I was surprised when I very nearly beat them all!!
Oh and we got a new fish tank...it's huge so we can get some friends for Ballbag the second and Lieutenant Shiny sides
On Saturday Mum treated to me this jumper dress and some floral brogues from Next
We plodded off to the cinema after and saw Big Momma and then for a Nandos....perfection
Love spending days with my Mum like that
Also saw Yogi Bear during the week with her, we're such big kids! And Gnomeo and Juliet with the bestest, all three films were enjoyable and cheered me up/distracted me!

Grey jumper dress with blush lace: Next (£28)
Worn with black leggings: New Look
Black biker style boots: Dorothy Perkins
 Few detail shots...
This was my outfit from Saturday
Taken post day out so I look a bit tired and scruffy

Dress: Primark
Cardigan: Topshop
Black brogues (not shown): Primark
Gavin likes to take the piss out of me taking outfit photos and photobombs when he's around
Apparently whenever I close the bedroom door he knows exactly what's going on....
This time I was attacked by Stanley, my Cath Kidston draught excluder
You can't see him but Gavin is actually behind me....

'You can count on me like 1 2 3'

I've been abandoned
Sad times
The boy has gone to the pub so I've had to entertain myself
Enter stupid photos....
They started off normal with outfit photos and then I got bored
 Dress: Primark
Cardi: New Look

Some of the out of focus ones would have been awesome!
So that's my Tuesday night in alone
Oh Dear!!!
