Balm Jovi Makeup Palette
The Balm
£34 (or $40...stupid mark ups!)

Anyone who knows me in real life knows I have a massive soft spot for Bon Jovi
Forever being my favourite band (alongside Avenged Sevenfold FYI)
When I saw this palette pop on my instagram feed a little while ago I knew it had to be mine
Bon Jovi/Rock music references combined with makeup is my idea of heaven!
I'd never tried anything from the brand 'The Balm' having only admired from afar
So I figured this pretty little palette was as good an introduction to the brand as any
When we were in New York I had been tempted by other bits and pieces from them but I'd run out of money and my Mum doesn't quite understand the amount of money I'm willing to splash on makeup

I love the packaging of this palette
It's very slim and sleek but still has a fun design
I love how the front looks like a poster to a festival with the guitar and name
Unlike a lot of palettes around this one doesn't just have a range of eyeshadows but also a highlighter, a blusher and two lipsticks
I'm not a huge fan of having cream products, like the lipsticks, in the same packaging as powder products especially with no form of barrier to stop fallout from the powders ending up in the creams
But being that I'm not a massive lipstick wearer this didn't put me off
Also the fact you cant take the lipstick out with you to top during the day unless you lug the whole palette around with you or depot the lip colours
Other than that this little beauty is amazing
All the colours are so pigmented and there are such a range of different shades
You can do pretty much any eye look you fancy
I like the fact all the colours lean towards the neutral spectrum but you can easily smoke them out
The shade names are really clever and cute too...Blink 1982, The Stroke, Iron Maid-in, Alice Copper
Just a really thought out palette which definitely stood out to me!
The staying power is fantastic too and I really recommend this palette.

Have you tried any The Balm products?
I'm going to have to pick up some more goodies!

Marc Jacobs Dot perfume

marcjacobsdot

Marc Jacobs
Dot
Eau De Parfum
£47.00 for 50ml

First things first just look at the bottle!
It's gorgeous
Like all Marc Jacobs perfumes the bottle is impressive and looks amazing on any dressing table
Marc Jacobs perfumes always smell good and wear well on the skin
I have about four different perfumes from the Marc Jacobs range and I reach for them most days over any others as they are just perfection in a bottle
I always get asked what I'm wearing especially with Daisy
When I saw the newly released Dot I knew I had to get my hands on it
My lovely fiance surprised me with a bottle for last Christmas and I've been wearing it at least twice a week since
It's a lovely mix of florals and the sweet smells of jasmine and vanilla
Definitely in my top 5 perfumes
Which for reference are; Chance by Chanel, Dasiy by Marc Jacobs, Ghost Sweetheart and Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy

What's your favourite perfume?

Shoes..a girl's best friend

shoe haul

I don't buy shoes very often but when I do I seem to end up buiying multiple pairs
Alongside these four above I've bought a black pair of pumps, some black supergra trainers, dark brown buckle brogue things and some cream pumps
I've been bad! But My shoe wardrobe needed an update!

The tan and gold glitter ankle boots were an absolute bargain in the New Look sale, reduced to just £10 and they only had my size so it was a sign they must be mine!
Truly tacky but I love things like that...always the best in my opinon!
When Liberty did the collaboration with Nike (last year I think)n I was a broke student and there was no way I could justify spending £70+ on a pair of trainers...however their current collab with Vans is much more up my street!
I've been a lover of Vans for over 10 years and have owned many pairs in that period
My tastes have evolved and these Liberty print beauties were perfect for me, at £50 they were by no means cheap but I've been wearing at least three times a week so they were definitely worth it!
When it comes to winter I live in brogues and wear them until they practically fall apart
This being the case I don't have any smart pairs in my wardrobe so when I saw these interesting cut out pretties in my local Primark for just £12 I had to get them!
They are so comfy and different to anything else I own I love them, contemplating picking them up in black too.
Nike blazers have been everywhere for so long now
When I saw these in the Sarenza sale they looked more of a pastel mint green and reduced to £40ish I thought I'd give them go
The colour, as you can see, is definitely not the pastel mint I thought they would be but nice nonetheless
I will say one thing though these are a bitch to put on!
I only wear them when I know I won't be taking my shoes off for a good while or not having to take them off and put them on again multiple times

Have you bought any pretty shoes recently?

Philosophy Purity Cleanser

Philosophy
Purity Cleanser and Facial Wipes
$39

When I saw these on offer in Macy's for the same price for just the cleanser but getting the wipes free I straight away picked it up
I've been wanting to try the Purity cleanser for so long and was determined to pick some up in New York
I know make up wipes aren't ideal for removing your face on a daily basis but on those nights where you're crawling in from a few too many bevvies surely it's better to use one of these instead of sleeping in your make up?
I've found these to be really effective, they don't leave any trace of makeup on my skin so I don't wake up with panda eyes
My skin does actually feel extremely cleansed, a lot more so than when I ever use a normal wipe
I like these but I haven't seen them online anywhere to repurchase
The actual cleanser is as amazing as I thought it would be
I've been using it on the 4 out of 7 days a week I don't use the Elemis Tri Enzyme facial wash
It's extremely gentle on the skin so doesn't aggravate my temperamental face but it also delivers a thorough cleanse and leaves the skin super clean
It melts away make up with ease and hydrates lightly too
Definitely don't regret purchasing the large size, this will last me a wee while!

Have you tried any of the philosophy skincare?

I've been shopping....

clothes haul

I haven't done a 'haul' type post on here for so long!
I've been trying not to buy to many clothes recently as since I've been working in an office environment I've piled on the weight..it sucks!
Al though it's gotten to the point where I don't have a huge amount of clothes to choose from so shopping was inevitable

I'm quite lucky at work as there isn't really a strict dress code I have to adhere too so I can wear what I like within reason. Al though I do like to look a little smarter often choosing a dress and cardigan over jeans and a hoodie but either seem to fit in fine
The two dresses in the photo above are from New Look and are the perfect cut for my figure, elasticaterd under the bust at my slimmest and then hang over my problem area (tum!)
The my little pony t-shirt is the perfect oversized tee for lazy days at home and it's so cute! I used to love the my little pony toys when I was younger
Primark have lots of these £4 tops which are perfect for work tucked into either a maxi skirt or a skater skirt, I love the print of this black one it has almost a stained glass flower print
As it's getting cooler now I picked up some jumpers for the office
The one with lacey shoulders is actually from the maternity section but it was too nice to not buy, who cares if it says maternity on the label anyway!
It's so snuggly and warm, and also a decent length
I have quite a long body so prefer jumpers that are longer, I'm guessing the extra length is to account for bump but it's perfect for my tallness!
The second jumper I picked up from Monki when I went up to London for my birthday
It's just a nice black and white jumper which looks good paired with skinny jeans and little pumps or ankle boots
The white shirt is another maternity purchase!
Again the length is ideal for me, it can be worn with both leggings and jeans being bum covering. There is a bit of ruching at the back which helps to give a bit more shape rather than just a floaty shirt

OOTD

And this is how I wore the little primark top for work recently
I think I need to get some more skirts like this as they really are perfect for work
