Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blusher in 'Pinched'

Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blusher
'Pinched'
£7.99

I'm a sucker for blushers...
Alongside eyeshadows they make up the majority of my collection
I feel so much more put together with a flush of colour on my cheeks
It has taken me a while o figure out when too much is just that, too much, and that a little can go a long way when it comes to your cheeks
The clown look is really not something I thrive for!
That's why I like how sheer cream blushers are and how easily and seamlessly they blend into the skin
Also really good when your doing your makeup on the go as you can just pop it on with your fingers, simples

Revlon are one of my favourite high street makeup brands, runner up is Maxfactor.
I love everything I try from them and always head to their stand first when I visit my local Boots, especially good when there's some kind of offer on
As you can see from the second picture I've been using this for a while and am really enjoying it
I use my Real Techniques Stippling brush to apply and find it works best for cream blushers
It's very hard to apply too much of this as it's just so easy to blend whilst still workable on the skin
Once it settles into the skin it dries to a silky powder finish which is really flattering on the skin as is the colour a gorgeous, subtle coral
Not as in your face as some other coral in my collection but perfect for an everyday makeup look where you don't want to look too overdone
This has been perfect from work worn with a simple eye look and a light foundation
Seeing as I like the formulation of Revlon's cream blushers so much I'm contemplating trying a few more, or trying a few other brands out.
Apparently MUA have a really good cream blusher for a bargain which may have to be purchased!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain 'Honey'

Revlon
Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
Honey
£7.99

I think it's fair to say I'm obsessed with these kind of lip colours
I've got the majority of the colours from Revlon available and am eying up various brands offerings
The way these products work is so convenient
You don't need to sharpen them as they just twist up and are super easy to apply in a rush (well the more neutral colours anyway!)
The Revlon balms aren't as pigmented as the newer Clinique Chubby Sticks as they have been reformulated to be more so. However I quite like the way these provide a glossy wash of colour, nothing too bright.
The Red colour is probably the darkest but is subtle enough to be wearable in the day time,  great for a bright colour phobe like me!

honey swatch

The swatch above is of the colour Honey
A gorgeous nude toned pink,  perfect for day wear
It's the best my lips but better shade for me and I can apply without a mirror at anytime
Great for work
I find the formulation softening and smoothing on the lips, moisturising too which doesn't normally come from a coloured lip product

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and Powder
Liquid £8.99
Powder £7.99

The newest foundation release from Revlon
I'm always on the search for my holy grail foundation and had to give the nearly naked range a try
Promising a refreshingly light formulation that melts into the skin and creates a fresh look
It's a buildable coverage but goes on quite sheer
As you can see in the swatches on my face I think I picked up a slightly too dark shade but hopefully once the sun makes an appearance my skin should hopefully naturally tan slightly so this colour should look alright
Possibly on holiday as a light coverage foundation this could be perfect
Al though the initial application is quite light and on my skin this doesn't look great
As you can see my bad skin still comes through but with a bit of clever concealing this would be fine for coverage
It leaves a dewy finish on the skin but I like to use the corresponding powder to slightly mattify the skin as dewy doesn't suit me
I think I'll definitely pick up the lighter shade in this so I can wear it now as well

Any other holy grail foundations I need to try?

Nail Polish Storage

nailpolishstorage
nailpolish
(Sorry about the poor photo quality the lighting's terrible in the flat!)

A little while ago I was moaning to my lovely fiance that I didn't have any storage for my nail polish collection, they were just chucked in a bag which I had to rummage in to find anything I fancied, I couldn't see all my polishes to decide what I wanted to wear and this resulted in always wearing the same polishes and neglecting the rest of my collection.
He took pity on me and built this little shelving unit (I say little it's about a metre sqaure!)
I love it!
I can now see all my bottles of joy lined up in brand order
And I now use all of my neglected polishes on a regular basis too
Unfortunately the way I had them stored before had led to leaks and smashes so a few of my bottles are covered in nail varnish, and it takes forever to get off the bottles
I use the shelves to store my hand and foot creams too...I have quite a few s&g heel genius lined up on the bottom! It always seems to be included in their gift sets and I never get through them...

How do you store your nail polish collection?

Relvon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Crush and Romantic

Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stains
Crush and Romantic
Revlon
£7.99 at Boots

I've now ended up buying all of the available colours available in this range from Revlon
As I've said before they are just the perfect product for me and many others judging by the high praise they receive
They go on smoothly, last really well even once the moisture has gone you're still left with a stain on the lips
These are the two most pigmented out of the whole range and are both gorgeous colours
Crush is the perfect Autumn Winter Berry lip shade
It's the first time I've felt comfortable wearing a darker berry shade on my lips and have to say I've been loving it
Romantic is a bold red but applies slightly more sheer than Crush
It gives a subtle red colour to the lips but is really wearable
Perfect if you don't want to go all out on a bold red lip but still feel a little more put together
I now can't wait to go to New York and pick up the USA exclusive colours
I think there's about 4 more but I'll try and be good!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Cherish and Darling

revlon

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
£7.99 each
Top 'Cherish'
Bottom 'Darling'

A few months ago I purchased this Revlon balm in Lovesick, a gorgeous, bright, fuchsia pink. It's a stunning colour but a bit bright for everyday wear, for me anyway I'm not one to embrace a bright lip on a daily basis..
I had been eying up the various colours Revlon have to offer for a while and finally decided to get some when Boots had their Autumn 3 for 2 on

lip

As you can see from the swatches both of these colours are pale and muted
They apply quite sheer but on my lips they give just enough colour to be noticeable
I love the minty scent they have and that they tingle a little bit on application
Being a balm they are quite moisturising but not as much as other's on the market, al though with such good colour pay off it's not really an issue.

I love these balms along with Revlon's Lip Butters
There are a few more colours I'm eying up, Rendezvous which is more of an orange colour slightly out of my comfort zone but it looks too pretty to miss. And Honey which is a more nudey colour.

As I'm going to New York next year I've also had a look into what colours they have available over there.
There seems to be a lot of products from high street brands we have that are only available in the USA so I'm excited to try some different things out.

Are there any products we can't get over here which your eager to try?

Revlon Lip Butters

I ended up going back for the other two colours I was lusting after...
Candy Apple and Creme Brulee
I will admit that Candy Apple is much more red based than I thought it would be, the swatch photos on Boots website suck! This seemed more coral based but I love that it is such a wearable red for someone like me who is slightly scared of colour. I don't like drawing attention to myself...
The Creme Brulee colour is perfect for work being a subtle nude.
Whilst these are still on offer in boots for only £5.99 I think I may go back for Strawberry Shortcake and Peach Parfait.
These seem to be  my dream lipstick/butter. I love the formula and the colours come out gorgeous on my lips.

Revlon Lip Butter ~ Sweet Tart

IMG_1124
Revlon Lip Butter
Sweet Tart
£7.99 but currently on offer in Boots for £5.99

I love this colour on my lips
It's the perfect level of brightness to still feel that bit girly when I'm at work
I found this to be a gentle swash of colour with one swipe but could be buildable to a certain extent.
Whilst their on offer in boots I'm most definitely going to be stocking up on a few
Got my eye on Creme Brulee a lovely nude kind of colour and Candy Apple a more coral toned colour.

Have any of you guys tried these?

Beauty Hauling

I seem to have been rather in the wars this week... Monday I helped the boy plaster the ceiling and somehow tweaked my back which made me pretty useless in a tile shop for the next few days, was in absolute agony! Tuesday I ended up with a migraine which obviously was shockingly rubbish, to top it off stomach cramps came my way..whoop whoop! Add to that mouth ulcers and very little sleep I was not a happy bunny come thursday and my day off.

So off I trotted to my local shopping centre to have a wee little splurge on myself, needless to say I felt much better after.

Yesterday (being Saturday) I shot my first solo wedding and it couldn't have gone any better, so now I'm devoting my time off to setting up my own little business and I am so freaking excited! I really feel wedding shoots could be something I can get into. And setting up a business may distract me from spending money on days off all the time!

And the all important purchases...
Estee Lauder Eye Cream and Ombre Blusher
Benefit BrowZings, They're Real Mascara and Hello Flawless Powder
Essie Splash of Grenadine Nail Varnish
Models Own Bloo Boo and Indian Ocean Nail Varnish
Revlon coral Lip Butter
Barry M Coral Lipstick
Boots Eye Make up Remover Gel
Estee Lauder free gift
I also purchased deodrant and cotton balls but didn't think they were photo worthy
I'm definitely going to have to start doing some reviews so will make a start this week

IMG_1045

Manicure with Bloo Boo and Indian Ocean
I found the Bloo Boo formula to be very runny and thin so it took around three coats and I still didn't achieve full opacity so thought I would try the Indian Ocean varnish on top. I love the effect of the Beetlejuice nail varnishes and will definitely be investing in more.

Well I'm considerably knackered after being at the wedding till 1am and then working 10-4 today and straight to the hospital to visit my grandad after work, and now I'm off to bed nice and early...

Night all
